Marriage Statements, Rain, Worship (I Need A Friday Afternoon Espresso)

by Rev. A. J. Iovine

Not that I have a lot of time this afternoon, but I thought I should at least give you an opportunity to spend a few minutes reviewing some recent statements by the LCMS and Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, Indiana) following the Supreme Court’s rulings this week.

Thinking that an Espresso Caffeine Boost is What I Need

Not that I am complaining, but this has been a long week (so far). And today will not end for a while. Maybe, just maybe, I will need a major caffeine jump start to get me through this Friday.

Considering that next week is the celebration of Independence Day on Thursday, many people are plotting to take days off next week (Monday through Wednesday, leading up to their official day off). And since others are plotting, work that could usually be spread out over a few days is being crammed into today. Ugh.

Worship Tomorrow Evening

Just as a quick reminder — we have regularly schedule worship tomorrow evening at 5pm.

Worship on Sunday

And as a two-day ahead reminder — we have regularly scheduled worship Sunday morning at 9:30am. And after church on Sunday, we’ll be holding our bible class and Coffee Hour.

Heavy Rain Possible

Just in case you haven’t listened to the weather forecast today, we are under a flash flood watch here in New Milford. As bands of thunderstorms push through our area over the next couple of days, we can get rather heavy rain in relatively short bursts. Keep an eye to the sky.
