Heavy Rain Followed by Heavy Rain

by Rev. A. J. Iovine

Weathercasters say the weather is going to go downhill starting this evening. Heavy rains are expected starting later tonight and going through tomorrow, especially tomorrow night when rains from Tropical Storm Andrea speed up the coast. Rain is expected to last until Saturday morning. Local weathercasters continue to believe that we could expect anywhere from 1 to 4 inches of rain as the double-barrel storms come through the area over the next 36 hours.

Our local first responders are at the ready just in case the Hackensack River overflows here in New Milford. The rescue boat sits on its trailer in the backyard of Fire Company 1 on Center Street waiting to be called into duty. I think we are all praying that the boat can go back into storage.

Church will go on as expected over the coming days. Morning Prayer on Friday is still at 7:15am. Saturday night worship is still at 5:00pm. Our annual Wine Tasting on Saturday is still at 6pm at The Garden Café.

Keep your neighbors in mind during the next couple of days.
