by Rev. A. J. Iovine

Taken from the LCMS YouTube page on the latest video released today by LCMS President Matthew Harrison where he announced the release of a letter explaining the LCMS support for the free exercise of religion:

Speaking from Lubbock, Texas, where he is attending the LCMS Texas District Convention, LCMS President Matthew C. Harrison announces the release of “Free Exercise of Religion: Putting Beliefs into Practice,” an open letter opposing the recent U.S. Health and Human Services contraceptive mandate on the grounds that it is an infringement of our God-given right to act according to the tenets of our faith. Twenty-four other religious leaders joined in signing the letter. Learn more about the LCMS response to the contraceptive mandate at http://www.lcms.org/hhsmandate.
