Dinner and Worship Tonight
I’ve always liked the way some of the cable channels have promoted their movies during the week with some sort of “Dinner and Movie” motif. Cute way to convince the homebodies to eat at home and then flip on the boob tube to watch some odd ball movie on their network.
Instead of throwing a TV dinner in the microwave or reheating leftovers tonight, why not come to church for “Dinner and Worship?”
The 5:45pm dinner is our annual Lenten tradition of soup, salad, dessert (and if you want to bring wine, our Lenten Soup Suppers are BYOB). Tonight, the Ladies Aid Society is sponsoring our dinner.
Afterwards at 7pm, stick around for our Lenten worship service. Tonight, Rev. Robert Holsten of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Closter is leading our worship service.
Now, just because I am not there, it doesn’t mean you can sit at home. No, no — come and eat and drink, both for body and your faith (the Eucharist is celebrated each Wednesday night) as we look at the Psalms and the blessed forgiveness we receive from our Father in heaven through our Lord Jesus Christ.
By the way, I will be at Zion Lutheran Church in Maywood.
ONE THING TO NOTE — we are still looking for people to help with soup and dessert for the remaining Wednesdays in Lent. Please consider signing up – your help would be greatly appreciated!
