Day 9: Locked Out

by Rev. A. J. Iovine

Yes, I had a post all ready to fly on Thursday. Early in the morning, cup of tea at my side, I plopped myself down in front of my Mac Mini and typed – all in all, a pretty decent post. As I hit the “Publish” button, an error message popped up on screen — our web host was working on server maintenance. “Come back later,” said the closing line of the note.

I didn’t go back.

Bah!

But if I did, I was going to re-write my morning effort centered on a post by Adriane Dorr, managing editor at The Lutheran Witness. A very pointed, but needed reminder, about the writing and editing craft. Reminded me of how Rush Limbaugh described the same “words mean things” topic, centered on the use of rhetoric in the political world.
