Showing Love and Mercy

(I posted the following on my Google+ account this morning, thus the language “my parish”)

Suburban churches are just starting to see the hardship of the growing numbers of poor people. With the economy struggling, there are so many people within our midst who are feeling the pain. My parish – Saint Matthew’s in New Milford, NJ – is working to help. We’ve recently established a food pantry to help those within our fellowship and, by the grace of God, in time we’ll be able to expand it to the greater community. The pain is there. God’s people work to help ease it. #church #LCMS #poor
