Just a Reminder
This evening at 6:00pm, we will be holding a special memorial service for a great woman who meant a lot to Saint Matthew’s: Helen A. Wallin. She was called to her eternal rest on Sunday, September 11th and now celebrates at the marriage feast of the Lamb in His Kingdom forever! Following our worship service, there will be a special reception held downstairs in Fellowship Hall.
While we are all saddened at Helen’s death, we will come together tonight to celebrate her life in Christ and all that she meant to Saint Matthew’s. As most of you know, Helen held nearly every position at church – except for the office of Pastor. Otherwise, she was involved in every committee, club, organization and served on every Board that Saint Matthew’s has ever created.
This wonderful woman will be missed.
When the perishable (body) puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:54-57
